Progress doesn’t happen standing still. As part of the Pas Normal Studios Accelerate Challenge, we’re hosting an Accelerate Ride from Cycle Store Zurich. A long ride together. A shared commitment. 

A classic extended loop from the city into rolling countryside, flowing climbs, and lake view. This route links together some of the best road sections between Zurich, the Albis, and the Zug region.

We roll out from the Zurich lakeside, heading south past Wollishofen and along the Sihl valley towards Adliswil. The first sustained effort comes as we climb up towards the Albis ridge and Affoltern am Albis. Steady gradients, smooth tarmac, and a rhythm that rewards controlled pacing.

From there, the route opens into the Knonaueramt: quiet agricultural roads, long sight lines, and gently undulating terrain where strong group riding really pays off. Expect rolling speed sections before the terrain tightens again towards the Hünenberg / Rotkreuz area, where the profile becomes more playful with short punchy rises.

A scenic stretch near the Zugersee brings a change of atmosphere. Wider horizons and a smoother tempo before we turn north again with the final urban approach back into the city.

ABOUT THE CHALLENGE

The Accelerate Challenge is an initiative to create momentum through showing up. Finish a 120 km ride between 1-8 March to complete the challenge.

CSZ Club Ride Rules:

	•	Be nice to each other
	•	Adhere to the philosophy of the given ride (social/ fast/ race)
	•	No racing on descents (it’s fun, we know, but it’s dangerous)
	•	A helmet is mandatory
	•	Lights are mandatory
	•	No use of tri-bars
	•	No ear-buds or headphones
	•	No center-lining (Stay on the right side of the road at all times)
	•	Up to two abreast only where traffic and road permits
	•	Pass hand signals through the group and indicate road hazards orally
	•	Minimize abrupt maneuvres in the group, such as sudden braking, swerving, and standing up
	•	Do not half wheel in the group
	•	Indicate to those behind you before you pedal standing up
	•	Follow and obey all road laws
	•	Wait for the rest of the group where necessary, eg. Group behind are waiting at traffic lights
	•	Bring all necessary equipment (and knowledge) for on-the-road maintenance ie. fixing a flat
	•	Download route in advance (if available)
	•	Have fun!
