Beginners ride

Cardiff Ajax beginners rides take place every other Sunday (alternating with improvers rides, which are similar but slightly longer). They are aimed at people who are new to road cycling, or who don't have much experience of group riding on the road. The aim of these rides is to introduce you to the basics of riding in a group on the road, and to help you build up your cycling confidence and fitness. You don't need to be a club member to come on these rides. You do need your own (working!) road bike, a helmet, some food and drink and some basic spares (eg a spare inner tube and a pump).
The ride starts and finishes at Maindy Leisure Centre. The route varies, but is generally about 30 miles over easy terrain with a cafe stop halfway round. We ride at the pace of the slowest rider. The ride is led by experienced and friendly members of the club, who will offer advice and assistance along the way.
