The Faster Inters Poppy Run West

For Remembrance Day we will be running four rides, North, South, East and West, dropping a wreath of poppies off at War Memorials 11 miles from Ilkeston in each direction. This route is for the faster inters group and goes West.

The War Memorial on this, the West route, is at Quarndon, on the road outside St Paul's Church at the top of the hill, almost opposite the junction with The Common.

The route has been planned without a cafe stop so that riders can be back in Ilkeston for the 11am Remembrance Service in the Market Place. If there is time or if you do not want to attend the Service, the route passes Dino's in Stanley Common on the way back to Ilkeston. Your choice.

This is a Sunday club ride for our cyclists who might be gaining a little more confidence and fancy taking a step up from our usual short Sunday ride.
Members and Non Members welcome.
The ride will be ridden at a social pace and we'll aim to keep the group together, but you will need to have a decent level of fitness to participate.
If numbers allow, This route will be split into two groups, with faster riders setting off first, closely followed by those who might ride at a more leisurely pace. average speed will vary between 13-18mph depending on the group you choose and the terrain you are on.

It is however really important that nobody gets left behind from either group & we ask that the pace be dictated by the slowest rider.

All riders will ride at their own risk.
Safety will be your own responsibility at all times so please ensure your bike is in good working order, equipped with front & rear lights and that you wear a suitable helmet.
Usual group riding etiquette applies.
Under 18's are welcome to Join the ride providing they are accompanied by a parent/guardian who accepts full responsibility for them at all times.

Please meet at The Cenotaph, on the Market Place, Ilkeston, ready to roll out at 0800.
