Spokes Fighting Strokes

Spokes Fighting Strokes

United States Cottonwood, Arizona

This club is about strokes and how a person can overcome the effects of a stroke to lead a positive, productive life. My name is Dan and I suffered a stroke in 2005. Though recovery was difficult and took a long time, I am now able to do many things that were previously considered unattainable. For more details on my experience you can read my biography here.
As a way to increase awareness of strokes and stroke survivors, I will be pedaling a recumbent trike across the country. This trip will demonstrate that suffering a stroke does not have to mean the end of a person's ability to enjoy an active lifestyle. For more information about the ride, and to see when and where we will be going, go to the bike tour page.

The other goal of this trip is to raise money for stroke research by having people donate to the National Stroke Association or the HHT Foundation either directly or via a pledge of so much money per mile ridden. For more details on how to support this effort, please go to the donate page.

We are also looking for corporate sponsors (or individuals) who are willing to help support this effort through donations to fund the expenses of the trip. We will be listing our sponsors prominently on this website and also on our support vehicle depending on the level of support.
