Meet Up Spot Dulwich Clock Cafe, Dulwich Park, SE21 7BQ
Casual (No-Drop) / Mostly Flat

In previous year our Open House ride has been attended by about 20 people. But this year hardly anyone is signing up to it. However, I'd die in a ditch rather than cancel it! Regardless of how many people attend, we can still show that using bikes is an excellent way to see an interesting selection of the multitude of properties that will be open to the public free of charge for the Open House Weekend (see https://openhouselondon.org.uk).

This is the schedule for the day (noting the opening times of the properties):

Peckham Rye Waiting Room: 10am-5pm https://openhouselondon.open-city.org.uk/listings/6995

Ride Leader: Nigel Bee (tel 07415 315 690, email nigel.bee@cyclistsinsouthwark.org.uk )

Hopefully this ride will help us reestablish a tradition for running such rides as "Southwark" ones. This is because, in 2007, when Barry Mason was in charge of Southwark Cyclists, there were two Southwark Cyclists Open House rides (see https://web.archive.org/web/20071106042026/http://www.southwarkcyclists.org.uk/social.shtml ):

Saturday 15 September 2007: Gunpowder, Small Arms, Waterworks and Pumps. Open House weekend. Meet 9am Southwark Needle for relaxed 40 miles up the Lee Valley to Epping Forest and Waltham Abbey. Including home of the Lee Enfield rifle, an Edwardian pumping station, Wedgwood drawing rooms...back south down the route of the New river. Bill.

Sunday 16th September 2007: SE1 Open House. SE1 lists 22 usually closed buildings open this weekend. Meet 10am Southwark Needle and agree which to visit. Barry.
