The Old Lady Ride is just 13 days following the Mother Ride.
Plenty of time to recover compared to the old days when they shared a weekend.

Please note there is a route change for 2025 to improve safety and flow. The route no longer crosses itself at the bottom of Scouters Mountain. This was a hazard (as I can personally attest) that we've corrected. We'll now enter the park from the path below and exit the park descending straight. So please update the route on your GPS device or the cue sheet taped to your top tube.

SAFETY
* As of 5/16 it is unknown whether Mt. Scott Trail will be open on the day of the event.
* Whichever of the four routes you choose, PLEASE download it to your GPS head unit or to the RWGPS app on your phone mounted to your handlebars and use it to navigate.
* None of the courses are painted this year unless you volunteer to do so.
* Please be AWARE that you may encounter other cyclists on course who are following a DIFFERENT route than you are. Ride defensively and don't assume they will be turning the same way you are.
* If you encounter any pedestrian on any trail, please slow to a crawl, say something friendly, and yield to the peds. Bikes are legal on all these trails but must yield the right-of-way.
* Please ride silently through the cemeteries and keep moving. Do not stop.
* Don't break the law, dummy. You're responsible for your actions. I ain't.

SUPPORT:
* At the START there will be coolers of Skratch labs hydration. Bring an empty water bottle (or filled with plain water you can dump in case we run out of skratch.)
* Midway aid station at mile 24.6 before Hidden Falls Nature Park presented by Gifted Wishes Foundation. Hydration donated by Skratch Labs and nutrition donated by Miriam.
* Finish line celebration station presented by New Belgium Brewing. Free beer, Lightstrike, and hard tea. Donations here support Community Cycling Center
* There is no other support on route. Please be self-sufficient mechanically.
* The ride is free. If you are able, please bring cash and stuff it in the donation jars or Venmo to support the non-profits.

The PDX Classics - Chasing Lions is a free series of challenging and rewarding hill climbing (mostly) road rides in and around Portland, Oregon. Five events are usually hosted from April to August each year. The main routes are all about 50 miles w/ 8000 feet of climbing + shorter versions. We build community & collect donations for Gifted Wishes and the Community Cycling Center.
