Tired of suffering up the familiar climbs you frequently slog? Well come dive deep into new slogging territory in the hills on the far side of Hwy 217. Even though the territory will likely feel new, the climbing ratio and steep pitches will be painfully familiar if you've ever ridden the Ronde PDX or any other PDX Classics route.

As usual, we will have complimentary Skratch Labs nutrition and hydration at the starting line and midpoint aid station. And you can reward yourself at the finish with free Skratch Recovery, New Belgium Brewing beer, and Athletic Brewing N/A. The ride and the goodies are free. We just ask that you bring some cash or Venmo to donate to the charities we support - Gifted Wishes and Community Cycling Center.

Three reminders: 

1. If you accidentally cause some property damage (like taking out a mailbox for example) you are responsible for apologizing to the owner and repairing it (after tending to any personal injury first, of course).

2. Ensure you have the current and official route loaded. If ever in doubt, go to www.RondePDX.com  Do not just search by title on RWGPS or you may end up with some random outdated version.

3. This is not a race. It's just a group ride on open public roadsand trails with no traffic control. Ride at your own risk, respect laws and other people. You are responsible for your own actions or inactions.

The PDX Classics - Chasing Lions is a free series of challenging and rewarding hill climbing (mostly) road rides in and around Portland, Oregon. Five events are usually hosted from April to August each year. The main routes are all about 50 miles w/ 8000 feet of climbing + shorter versions. We build community & collect donations for Gifted Wishes and the Community Cycling Center.
