Juneteenth Community Run

Please join us on Saturday, June 19, 2021 at 10:00 am for the 1st Annual Great Day Squad Juneteenth 5K. This year we will be offering both LIVE and VIRTUAL options. The live option will take place at the Philadelphia Art Museum meeting at the stairs. Funds raised from GDS JUNETEENTH 5K will go to support the Black Emotional and Mental Health Alliance, Black Mental Health Alliance and Girltrek. We continue to commemorate over 400 years of Perseverance 1619- present and ask you to join us for this day of growth and education.

Juneteenth,the celebration commemorating the end of slavery in the United States on June 19th, 1865. General Gordon Granger led 2,000 Union soldiers to Galveston, Texas to ensure the freedom of 250,000 still enslaved persons. Visit www.juneteenth.com for additional information on this historic day.

The 5K race will start and finish at Philadelphia Art Museum. The official start time is set for 10:00 am.
