Summer Solstice 600

Tempo / Mostly Flat

Well hello there... It's that time of year again!

If you know me, then this is no surprise as I've been talking about this ride since June 23rd 2017 when I did the 500km ride. So, this is a 600km ride - and I'm opening it up to people who would like to join in for any part of it.

This year's ride is much different than past years: No mountains. This ride is all on flat lands, and consists of routes never more than 100km from Richmond. All of the riding will be contained to Richmond, Ladner, Tsawassenn, Delta, White Rock and Langley.

The home base (my car with supplies) is set up in Richmond at Dyke and no4 road. This means I'll be returning to this location at least two times during the ride for larger meals and supplies as needed.

It's a 24 hour ride (for me), with a minimum distance of 600km. Finishing average speed is hoped to be 30km/h. The wind will play a large part in that. And of course, other people joining in to help out will help too :)

I'm asking if anyone would like to join the ride, for 50km, 100km or even more?

If you're interested, then email me or message me here.

Roughly - where the riding is:

Ride starts at 3am at my house in Richmond, and the first 4-5 hours will be in Richmond. Sticking to well lit roads until the temperature warms up, then extending out farther. A stop at the home base on Dyke and then heading out over the Alex Fraser bridge for lots of country farm and highway riding. After about 200km out there, back to home base to refuel, then back out that way again taking different routes until the sun starts to go down around 9pm. After that, the rest of the ride will likely take place in Richmond, again on well lit roads and finish at the home base car at 2:59am.

Meeting up in Richmond, White Rock, Delta etc is all possible and the scope of the ride, and being that it's a Saturday means hopefully some people can come out and join in.

Weather permitting of course. Anyone is welcome as long as you can keep at least 30kmh on the flats. If there are times where there are enough people even a nice easy pace line would be terrific.

If you're interested, let me know. Hope to see you!
