The National GBVF Challenge

In support of the 16 days of Activism against GBVF Campaign, the National Department of Social Development in partnership with NICDAM intends to arrange the 2nd Annual GBVF Race Challenge. This race will start on the 25th November 2021 and will end on the 10th December 2021. Groups/ Organizations/ Individuals will be able to run on their own for 16 consecutive days for a minimum of 5km’s per day.

The aim of the event is that ALL that participates in the race symbolically for 16 days walk/run in the shoes/ paths of those who suffers GBV on a daily basis and in remembrance of those who succumbed to this scourge.

This event serves to encourage community participation in the fight against GBVF. National DSD and NICDAM therefore identified 16 Civil Society Organizations the works in the GBVF space and that are placed in the 30 GBVF Hotspots around the country to participate in the 2nd |Annual GBVF Race Challenge. These organizations would then encourage community participation in their respective constituencies.
To reward these CSO’s form recruiting and encouraging community participation, the following prices will be awarded to CSO’s

1. CSO that recruited the most community members to participate in the race – R2, 000.00
2. Runner up – R1, 000.00
3. Second Runner Up – R500.00
For tracking purposes, participants should register on STRAVA, with their name and CSO name as reference.
