We don't know if this is feasible but for quite a while at VCC we've been looking at the possibility of running a one-hour time trial event and would love to hear from anyone interested in taking part, either as a rider or as a volunteer.

A reminder that entries for our next open event close at 23:59 on Sunday 10/7....

We're a few days out from the closing date for our next open TT event, which runs on the R15/5 course and offers a rare opportunity for a PB over the 15-mile distance. If you're familiar with the south Wales dragstrip known as the R10/17, this is effectively that course with a couple of miles tacked on at either end.

Here are the VCC championship events for 2022. 10 miles: Welsh Cycling Association, August 7 15 miles: Celtic Series (event #5), July 17 25 miles: Royal Dean Forest, August 28 30 miles: Welsh Cycling Association, July 24 50 miles: Welsh Cycling Association, September 25 100 miles: Welsh Cycling Association, July 3 12 hours: RTTC National Championship, September 4 24 hours: RTTC National Championship (aka "Mersey Roads"), July 23 Voting for the 2023 championship events will open in December 2022.

With the 10-mile and 100-mile awards already settled for 2021, we have a couple of less common distances to contest.   ...

On Wednesday 30/6, three VCC riders will contest the 2021 title at the 15-mile distance. The start sheet features Kyle, Jeff and Simon, with the Spindata site projecting them to finish in that order. More than that, Kyle is entitled to set his sights on the top end of the event overall as his reputation in TT circles continues to grow.

Regular readers will be familiar with the 2020 battle that saw three VCC riders contest the 10-mile title on the U7B course near Bristol. That particular event went the way of Jeff Rees who simultaneously became the oldest and youngest rider to ever hold the prestigious award.

First-year rider Kyle Blackmore clinched the club 100-mile title for 2021 at the challenging R100/1 course. Setting off at 8:56am Kyle was projected by the impressive Spindata site to finish 6th overall with home rider Chris Gibbard tipped for the top spot and the WCA championship that would come with it.

Back in March, with so much uncertainty over the 2021 TT season in the UK, VCC registered a number of &quot;standby&quot; events that could potentially fill the gap if a scheduled open event couldn&#39;t go ahead....
