An intricate loop from Aust through the Forest of Dean to Gloucester and back via Berkeley that gives an excellent trip. The Forest of Dean section is quite hilly and whilst the return ride though Berkeley is much flatter there can be a nagging South Westerly headwind. There are some unavoidable sections on main A roads going into and leaving Gloucester with a bit of urban cycling and another short section of the A38 before Slimbridge. Nonetheless this is a small price to pay for a satisfying trip around the River Severn!
