Let's ride Len's Burrito Run to San Miguel, clockwise, by way of Vineyard, Chimney Rock and San Marcos Roads as outlined in the particulars below!
We will meet at K-Man Cycle and Run in Atascadero. We will head north on El Camino Real to Curbaril, where we will turn right. From there we will turn left onto Santa Ysabel. Then we will turn right on Highway 41 and left on Templeton. We then stay on Templeton Road all the way, turning left at the intersection with El Pomar, when its name changes to Vineyard. We will follow Vineyard through Templeton, past Main Street , over the Freeway, and then through the intersection with Highway 46. When we get to Willow Creek Road, we will turn right and follow Willow Creek up to where it ends at Peachy Canyon Road , where we will turn left. Where Peachy Canyon meets Vineyard, we will turn right. Then when Vineyard ends at Adelaida Road, we will turn left. We will proceed west on Adelaida until it ends on Chimney Rock Road. At that point, we will turn right and do the long, beautiful descent down to Lake Nacimiento Road, where we will turn right and proceed east to San Marcos Road , where we will turn left. We will take San Marcos to its end at Highway 101, where we will carefully cross the Freeway and head north to the first San Miguel exit. We will get off of the Freeway there and head into town on Mission Street , turning left onto 10th Street to get to Dos Hermanos Mexican food palace, located at the northeast corner of 10th and L Streets. After feasting on the world’s best burritos, we can decide for ourselves how to get back to Atascadero, with those preferring the most direct route able to take River Road and those looking for extra miles enjoying the opportunity to revisit places like Ranchita, Hog and Cross Canyon Roads, etc.
