Shred a hot lap on some of Post Canyon's best jumps.
The Grand Prix trail is famously home to some of the largest jumps in the popular Post Canyon trail system. If you don't have time for a big loop and are instead looking to maximize your airtime to effort ratio, this hot lap on Grand Prix and Toilet Bowl is just the ticket.
The ride begins from the Family Man Staging Area and starts climbing uphill on the 8-Track trail. This delightful climbing singletrack is smooth and swoopy, with the grade increasing as you progress. You'll need to connect through several junctions to complete the climb, but when you reach the top of Bad Motor Scooter it's time to pull the pads up and prepare to rip!
Bad Motor Scooter offers up an endless series of flowy berms, tabletop jumps, and double jumps. While everything on this trail can be rolled or bypassed, hitting all of the features perfectly requires advanced-level jumping skills. But even for intermediate riders, the swoopy, flowy downhill is an absolute riot!
After you cross the dirt road, you'll drop into Grand Prix. Grand Prix starts off fast and furious, with the trail speeds picking up fast thanks to the smooth, dark black dirt trail surface. First up is a small set of tabletop jumps, but as the trail descends, the hits get bigger and bigger, with massive berms that allow you to keep the speed high, even around 180-degree switchbacked turns. After the first set of tabletops, you'll begin to spot more and more double jumps. Then, lower down when the speeds are at their maximum, you'll spot a few serious-looking gap jumps. These gaps would rank at least "Severe" on our FATMAP scale, but all of the biggest hits can easily be bypassed if you aren't feeling that sendy.
After Grand Prix, Toilet Bowl keeps the downhill flowing, but the trail character changes to an older school freeride line. Shortly after dropping into the trail, you'll spot the main feature: a substantial ladder drop next to a toilet bowl. Again, this can be bypassed if you'd prefer. Lower down, a few optional doubles and drops pepper Toilet Bowl, but the short trail runs out pretty quickly.
To get back to the parking lot, you'll have to climb back up the hill on the Seven Streams trail, but this portion of the climb goes by quickly. Written by Greg Heil
