Mountain Biking Trail

The crown jewel of Seattle mountain biking!

Duthie Hill has long served as Seattle’s go-to mountain bike trail system. "With 16 miles of relatively quick and fun interconnected trails sprawling out from a central hub, Duthie’s 23 trails offer something for everyone,” writes Asa for []( This complex system of singletrack is incredibly diverse, with all types of trail ranging from XC singletrack to flow lines to wooden freeride features.

The route mapped here is an example of a long(ish), continuous ride through the network at Duthie. However, in actual tradition, "the park mostly caters to lap-style riding and sessions on the much shorter trails contained within the park,” [according to]( local mountain biker Chris Daniels. “These short thrashes are built for flow, freeride, and jumping. Whether a novice to mountain biking, advanced to the max, or just 'freeride curious,' Duthie features are built for both cutting freeride teeth and keeping them sharp,” he continues.

In addition to the incredible trail diversity, the high quality of the mountain bike-specific trail construction adds yet another layer of guarantee to Duthie’s assurance of "good times had by all." Washington’s Evergreen Mountain Bike Alliance, which is responsible for Duthie, is one of the premier trail advocacy and trail building organizations in the USA. “The nation's largest statewide mountain bike association,” Evergreen has crafted their trail building and design skills over the years, with Duthie Hill Mountain Bike Park itself receiving accolades and awards. As Evergreen [puts it]( "today, Duthie Hill Park still serves as a prime example of what can be accomplished when a public parks department and trail building organization work together to build a high-quality trail system on a relatively small plot of land."
