Summer Trail Uphill
Backcountry Skiing Route
Details
1.79 mi
1,567 ft
One of the designated routes for uphill travel during operating hours at Snow King.
This route is Snow King’s most popular hiking trail in the summer, and provides another way to ascend the mountain in the winter––skinning uphill. It’s one of Snow King’s designated routes for uphill travel during operating hours. Note that during off hours you do not have to stick to the designated routes, but an uphill pass is always required. See Snow King’s [uphill travel]( page for the policies and more information.
This route begins from Snow King Center and zigzags up the mountain, sometimes on groomed piste and sometimes on a skintrack through the woods. Look for yellow discs on trees that mark the trail. If you take it all the way to the top, you’ll bank about 2 miles and 1500 vertical feet in one lap. Then you can ski down and do it all again! During resort hours you can ski down any open run, so there’s a way to switch it up on every lap. Written by Jesse Weber
