Green Mountain Loop (Green Mountain Long Branch Aska Aska Trails Aska Trail System)
Mountain Biking Trail
Hard
10.57 mi
1,691 ft
Flowy singletrack in the North Georgia mountains with views of Lake Blue Ridge.
"The Aska Trail System has almost a split personality,” writes “The trails on the west side of Aska Road are very steep and reasonably technical. The other half of the trail system on the east side of the road is still hilly. . .but in general, the climbs are more reasonable and the singletrack is pretty fast and buff.”
While a few rocks and roots punctuate the singletrack on the Green Mountain side, overall the fast, flowy trail tread reigns supreme. In fact, parking at the Long Branch parking lot and simply riding the short Long Branch trail (as oxymoronic as that description may sound) as a loop is possibly the best beginner singletrack mountain bike ride in the Appalachians of North Georgia.
If you choose to continue on the Green Mountain Trail, eventually you’ll access stunning views of Lake Blue Ridge.
The route mapped here is shown as a loop, but you’ll need to use roads to complete the northern reaches of the loop. Should you prefer to maximize your singletrack experience, it’s best to just turn around and pedal back up the mountain.
