The French Alps are famed for offering a high drama, spectacular landscape in a mountainous environment. This mountain range is one of the best places in the world to ride your bike!
The winter ski resorts of Tignes and Val d’Isere, in the heart of the French Alps, have teamed up to produce an incredible and expanding summer bike park across both areas.
The bike park offers everything you'd expect, across 35+ trails (downhill, all mountain, and XC) ranging from very easy to elite. This bike park isn't as well known as other bike parks in the Alps, but that results in quieter and less blown-out trails for your delight.
The lift pass allows access to both areas, and although many trails can be covered in a day, it is worth spending a couple of days to get the best out of the park.
This fast, flowy trail starts right from the top of the Olympique gondola. It intersects a few times with "Popeye," so you could swap between the two should you wish to mix it up.
The top half has quite a wide trail tread. It's filled with braking bumps due since it's heavily-trafficked, but the trail is still a lot of fun. Expect the top section to be rockier because of the high alpine terrain, as well as its popularity. Lower down, you'll find some nice jumps and drops (with ride round options) and good berms to rail.
The trail flows into "Popeye" at the end.
This trail is graded a "Blue" route by the Bike Park so beginners could nicely progress to this after the easier "Green" routes. More advanced riders will enjoy railing this route with speed and fluidity.
