Gers Bowl
Backcountry Skiing Route
Details
1.25 mi
53 ft
A long off piste run with great variety and a long difficult drag to get back out
Gers doesn’t open unless the snow is good and the ski patrol make sure it is as safe as it possibly can be. Once you go in the drag lift is the only way out so as a general rule if the lift is not running, don’t go in! If it is open you can cut off to the left instead of following Jais the black piste. Descend into the bowl here either (a) straight down or (b) by traversing high left and descending where looks best for fresh tracks! Be warned that even if it is open this is an exposed bowl and slides very often; don’t go unless you are 100% sure it is safe. Once further down you go through some shrubbery and then bear right and head to the bottom of the drag lift. Be warned this is a long, long drag, uncomfortable on skis and hell on a board!
