A classic way to link the north and south loops at Allsopp Park near Little Rock.
Allsopp Park is the go-to for locals looking for a trail run near Little Rock. While it may not draw in many visitors from other areas, the access to nearby neighborhoods, proximity to the Arkansas River Trail, and a short drive from downtown make it a popular park with hikers, mountain bikers, and trail runners alike. Allsopp is also an excellent place to explore before or after work since the trails tend to see the most traffic in the afternoons.
In addition to several miles of multi-use trails, Allsopp Park includes a playground, numerous sporting fields, tennis courts, group pavilions, picnic tables, and even more amenities. Many of the park's facilities are handicap accessible, and leashed pets are welcome in most areas, including on the trails. Restrooms and drinking water are available to all, and the park is an ideal spot for the entire family to enjoy the outdoors together - even if you visit for a reason other than running.
Other than the well-marked loop seen here, paved pathways and sidewalks also wind their way through the park. With some creativity, you pair this loop with some—or all—of the Arkansas River Trail or earn some extra miles on the roads and paved pathways that wind through the park.
