A steep couloir that narrows at its center

A steep couloir that narrows at its center, Threeway Chute #4 starts steep and wide at the top. It narrows in the middle, and during low snow conditions, this pinch point can feel quite narrow, though it is still wide enough to make turns. This couloir is bordered on skier's right by a long buttress. It is possible to ski onto this buttress in the middle and traverse under Billy's Chute. This halfway point also offers a great spot to stop for a break. Stay in the main chute and ski into the wider basin below the three other chutes. Written by Kim Kircher
