A long, thin straight-line chute with a sizeable cornice and a steep runout
Not for the faint-hearted! As you might imagine from its name, the pencil is a long, thin chute accessed via a cornice (the size of which depends on snow conditions) which shoots you out onto Double Rubble. The snow will be good here - at least for the first person! The entrance can get pretty scraped out though from the access side-slip in that people tend to make. Ensure the run below is clear before you send it though as you'll be coming out with some real hot sauce! Check the chute and snow conditions out from Double Rubble beforehand.
