A long steep couloir that opens onto a face.
A long steep couloir that opens onto a face, Shaker's Right is off the beaten path. Due to trees that shield it from sun and wind, this hidden chute/face often holds snow longer than its neighbor Niagaras. Enjoy this 1200 vertical foot run that offers a little bit of everything for the expert. The upper section starts out as a glade, but quickly steepens as it drops over a rock band. Here, the run narrows to a couloir before opening again below this rock band. Continue through rolling treed slopes to a steep face (known as Mike's Face) just above I-5. Snowboarders might consider continuing down to the parking lot and taking the shuttle back to base. Otherwise, enter the trees on the narrow I-5 Trail for a long traverse back to the base area.
