Mont Gele - S Couloir
Backcountry Skiing Route

A steep N facing S shaped couloir
Slightly shorter than other couloirs in this area but still a serious, and steep line with an adventurous, committing approach. At the bottom of the couloir you can join the Col de la Mouche to continue off-piste or join the Chassoure itinerary. From the Mont Gele lift station, follow the North East ridge first on the south/east side, then on the north side and ridge proper. Descend / traverse slightly on the North side and then do a short 50m boot pack back up to the top of the ridge near the summit of the Pointe de Chassoure. From here follow a snow covered ledge and then the North East ridge where you will find the entrance to the couloir, a little before the Banana couloir. Ski the couloir and continue down to Tortin via one of the other routes. Written by FATMAP Official
