Very steep, rocky bowl with tricky chutes and large airs.
Moosehead is one of the pitches on the ridge that separates Third Bowl from Spellbound/Phoenix. It is usually closed because the terrain is extremely rocky and features very high consequence areas. When it is open, it is accessed from a gate in the skier's left of Close Call area in Third Bowl. The area is a very steep bowl with tricky chutes and many rocks. It empties out into Phoenix Bowl. Unless it's a huge snow year, try to stay left into the chutes that are easier to navigate but hard to enter as the trees on the rope line are very, very steep with some cliffs in them.
