Teton Traverse

Backcountry Skiing Route

Easy way to get into the apron of Sometimes/ Lewis and Clark/ Cuckoo's

The Teton Traverse is an option for those wanting easy powder turns after Mad Man's has been skied out. It gets you into the wide open apron just to the North, where Sometimes/ Lewis and Clark/ Cuckoo's come down. It is pretty exposed as it traverses over Prince of Darkness, so you must be comfortable with a little bit of exposure. This traverse hardly ever sees the sun, so it will be in good condition. Get to the entrance of Mad Man's and look down and left, you will see the snow field at the base of a large rock wall, this is where the traverse is. You only have about 80ft of exposure below you as you travel North, and soon you will be on the apron and ready to shred down to the North Bowl Road. Written by Matthew Shortland
