The Wall
Backcountry Skiing Route
Details
0.47 mi

Short but very sweet. Down one of the steepest routes in valley
Don't be fooled by the fact that this run is only a few hundred meters long. Decesending right next to the infamous "Wall" run in Pila, which you will readily be able to see; out of control, panicked-looking piste skiers and snowboarder, struggling their way down. Directly adjacent to this run, this is a lovely spot of off piste, which offers the same steepness but with far more favourable off piste, unkept snow. After a fresh snowfall, this run is so much fun, a far more interesting way to get to the piste. Simply head to the top of the Couis 2 chair lift and descend to the left. Here you have 2 options to access this route. You can jump into the face next to the entrance to black 11, (However please be careful and wary of the avalanche blaster that protrudes out of the hill.) Or you can begin on black 11 and take a swift left and exit the piste. The run is open so this provides an ideal environment to gain some speed and enjoy the space. The skiing is fast and fun but relatively easy, not cliffs, trees of drops to negotiate. Challenge your friends, who can make it down first, the piste goers or the freeriders. . .
