Marbree Couloir
Backcountry Skiing Route
Details
3.87 mi
380 ft
Probably the most spectacular descent on the Hellbronner, this line goes through some huge terrain and features steep freeriding.
Heading right from the Helbronner top station go towards the Aiguilles Marbrées and traverse to the left of the peak and gain the entrance to the couloir here. Skins are required to access this descent as the approach is (gentle) uphill. Traverse into the main couloir from the left side and once in the centre enjoy the fall line skiing . As the terrain kicks back traverse left over a large plateau. Once on the other side ski open terrain tending right to avoid massive cliffs. Once past these, track back left as you hug the rock walls and ski down and left into the forested area taking the line of least resistance through the forest, eventually skiing out onto the road before walking back to the La Palud. Warning: very avalanche prone, many experienced freeriders have had serious accidents here. Written by FATMAP Official
