Mythic off piste in Chaux Fleurie
This off-piste area is very popular on a powder day because it is not difficult and it is easy to access. To get there, take the Chaux-Fleurie chairlift from Lindarets. Once at the top, turn left towards the arrival of the opposite chairlift. You will have to push for about 150 - 200m to the end of the flat area. You will then have a pleasant, short hike along the ridge for approximately 100m with skis on shoulders or attached to a rucksack, until you reach the antenna. It is from here that the freeride begins with a mellow slope that gradually steepens with many rollovers and nicely spaced trees. This run is ideal for warming up before a big powder day, however it can be tracked out very quickly. You must be very careful not to go too much to the right because there is a big cliff below, so as you begin your descent gradually bear to the left. You will eventually hit the blue piste that brings you back down into the Lindarets village. Written by Jules Mandin
