Strzelecki Creek drops sharply granting an absolutely breathtaking view of the Sentinel before plunging westwards into some of the best terrain in Australia.

Beginning in the saddle between Twynam and Tenison Woods Knoll, the run begins with a mellow gradient, the run soon drops away sharply into the valley. The creek line is covered with some pretty large boulders which only seem to fill out in a good season. Other lines nearby are less hazard-ridden and far wider, particularly to north, which fill in with far less snow, but providing a steep gradient nonetheless. As it faces west, the downside to this run is that is can be fairly icy if there hasn't been a fall for a while, and later in the season it melts at a far greater rate. If that is the case I would suggest try your hand at Avalanche Face if this one is looking a little dicey. Again be aware of avalanche conditions in this area, slides do occur. The best exit for this one is to head straight back up the creek line. Written by Omar Elkadi
