Cabagnou's in between rocks line
Backcountry Skiing Route
Details
0.46 mi
68 ft
A steep line requiring an hour long access hike.
From the "Creussans" chairlift turn left and follow the hike onto "Pic de Cabagnou line". The walk does take a lot of time as the line takes 1 hour to reach. Take the line after the ridge. The area gets a lot of sun as it faces East so make sure there's enough snow before heading in as wet snow can be found, or some frozen snow in the morning. The line is steep (up to 50 degrees) and the exact line is dictated by cliffs. A good weather window is needed in order to avoid getting lost in the area, which would be a major problem due to the cliffs. Avalanche risk is pretty important due to the steepness all around the face. The line finishes on the red piste "L'Estany" which leads back to "La Coma" ski area. Written by Kevin Blanc
