The OG intermediate jump run in Snowmass's upper zone.
The Vapor Trail is one of the OG singletrack runs descending from Snowmass’s upper lift. In fact, as of the time of this writing both of the other trails in the upper zone split off from Vapor, so you’re guaranteed to ride this trail one way or another.
Vapor is an intermediate jump trail filled with tabletop jumps and bermed corners, descending all the way down to mid-mountain. However, since this trail is a bit older, it retains some chunky qualities with rocks poking through the exposed trail tread, rock gardens sprinkled throughout, root webs, and other challenging features. So don’t expect this trail to offer a true manicured flow trail experience—it’s more of an old school jump line feel.
While Vapor isn’t buff and smooth, many riders will appreciate the interesting ride quality. The entertainment value is high all the way down the mountain, with fun tabletops to challenge yourself on, high-speed sidehill sections, sweeping berms, and more.
There’s no way you can ride Vapor just once—you’ll definitely have to come back for seconds and thirds! Written by Greg Heil
