Day 20 of Grande Traversate delle Alpi (GTA), the famous long-distance hiking trail across the Italian Alps.
Leaving the small high alpine community of Ghigo di Prali, head in the direction of Rodoretto, circling the base of the mountain as you go. Carry on ascending up a high ridgeline above Fontane and then descend down to Salza di Pinerolo. Cut through the hamlet, continuing on to Balsiglia where you can stay on a basic but charming Posto Tappa.
