Moanalua Valley and Tripler Ridge Trail Loop

A stiff climb to a beautiful ridgeline.
This epic loop provides a stiff climb to a beautiful ridge on Oahu. The loop combines two trails, the Moanalua Valley and the Tripler Ridge trails, although making the connection between the two along the top of the ridge can be fairly sketchy.
Indeed, even gaining the ridge itself is an arduous climb along overgrown trails that are invariably muddy, laced with roots and rocks, and have sections that may require some scrambling.
With over 9 miles of hiking or running and a stiff 3,000 vertical feet of elevation gain, this loop is one of the more challenging routes that's commonly completed on Oahu.
