Day 3: A day tour from the Jamtal Hut
This hut is too amazing to spend only one night in. Fortunately there are numerous day tours possible from the hut. The one described here is the Hintere Jamspitze.
From the hut ski SW onto the N facing Jamtal Glacier. Follow this steadily upwards in an arc, heading SE, S then SW to reach the Jamjoch Col at 3078m. From here a short further skin leads to a bootpack up to the summit cross at 3156m. Descend as for the skin up on often lovely cold powder. Written by Jon Morgan
