Summer Bowl Headwall

Steep, Small Headwall with options

The Headwall at the back of Sacajawea (Summer) Bowl sees lots of traffic early and late in the season. It is the easiest, most straightforward option in the bowl. As such, there is usually a skin track or boot up it. It starts off pretty mellow for about 100 feet, then rolls over to almost 40 degrees for a little bit, then flattens out as you get to the bottom. You can find lots of weird wind lips and tight spots between the exposed rocks. It is totally East facing, and usually has cold snow, except very late in the season. Written by Charlie Boscoe
