An easy yet breathtakingly scenic trip beneath the Rocher de Fiz.
Accessible even to beginner ski tourers, this trip past the famous Lac Vert and Châtelet d’Ayères restaurants is a very civilised way of getting some exercise - and calories! The terrain is straightforward and the scenery is staggering, with the Rocher de Fiz above you and Mont Blanc standing proud a few kilometres to the south.
The route is only permitted when the ski area is open, and the descent down from the top of Plaine Joux will take you down the resort's pistes. Written by Charlie Boscoe
