Susch-Dörfji
Backcountry Skiing Route
Details
22.06 km
1,095 m
An easy going winter road closed to cars into some technical downhill skiing.
This route uses a closed winter road ! Make sure the road is closed to circulation before heading out. Most years it seems to be closed from January to April.
From Susch train station follow directions to the Flüelapass road. Head up the road and make your way up to the pass, beware of the south facing slopes which are composed of grass and rock slabs perfect for glide avalanches. Once at the pass you can ski your way down to the end of the winter track that is at the 1964 point on the swiss topo map by the bridge crossing the Fluëlabach. From there we decided to stay on the left bank and kept the skins on all the way, beware if you follow our track you will be up for some technical downhill skiing ! The track ends accross from Dörfji where we use a water pipe as a bridge to cross the river.
This route is part of a bigger project that crossed the Swiss Alps
