A short escape into beautiful hidden valley close to Geilo
Vestreim Fjellstugu is located in Budalen, 1060 m.a.s.l, one mile from Geilo. The serving cabin is adjacent to Hallingskarvet National Park, where you can enjoy tranquility combined with activity in a landscape where Hallinskarvet thrones in the background.
Here you will find an extensive machine-prepared trail network, with daily freshly prepared ski runs throughout the winter season. There is also ski tracks to Sudndalen and Raggsteindalen and this is tracked at Easter. Make sure to check if its groomed at
If you want to start the skiing from Geilo, Havsdalen can be a good starting point to enjoy the day on beautiful groomed tracks in light terrain. You start from Havsdalen by follow the alpin track towards Havsdalshovda before taking a more North-East direction. The tracks and signs now lead you up in Budalen. You have now different options, but if you would like to go all the way to Vestreim, you can follow signes with "Vestreim o/ Veslebudalen" to get a round trip.
In the summer you can get to Vestreim by car, bike or on foot. There are good trails in easy terrain to Geilo, Havsdalen, Prestholt, Ustaoset, Hovet, Sudndalen and Raggsteindalen.
Vestreim Fjellstugu serves halling fare, lunch and freshly made waffles. They welcome groups on request for dinner, breakfast and overnight stay.
