Incorporating some of the Wild Atlantic Way this is a very popular route for locals, cycling clubs and tourists. Tourist sights include the Cliffs of Moher , The Burren, Doolin etc.The 80km route I advise is for confident/experienced cyclists who have a good level of fitness and want a climbing challenge (inc Corkscrew Hill cat 4 - 6%). Stretches of this route are enjoyable for a leisurely spin with plenty of rest points for coffee etc. Extra care is needed as it has a high traffic volumes during the summer, road surface is good but the route is narrow in places. Being near the coast subjects the cyclist to strong cross winds.Popular with coach tours so be cautious. There are plenty of link roads off the main route worth a look and you will soon discover that this is one of the most scenic areas on the planet.
