Levi's GranFondo 2015 (FORT ROSS WITH DIRT)
Cycling Route

This route used to be known as a "bail-out" option for riders not able to complete the Gran route in time. While it does become mandatory to take this option after 10:30am in Occidental, the truth is that it's a fantastic route with some very challenging climbs and incredible beauty. It's hard to go wrong in Sonoma County and this option is no exception. So if you're looking for an 85-ish mile ride, this route's for you! It dumps you right next to the Ritchey Rest stop at the top of Fort Ross Road before descending back to the coast as you join back up with the last half of the Gran route. As an added bonus, this route comes with dirt as you climb up the fabled Willow Creek road. Make sure to keep the power on the ground though, as some of these climbs are slippery and you could find yourself walking some sections.
