After some consideration we have decided to keep the original bike route but add a compulsory dismount before making the road crossing into the field at the end of the cycle leg.
Single hilly lap south from Coniston on the A593 through Torver to Broughton in Furness, where at the T junction with the A595 turn left towards Dalton in Furness. On the A595 in Grizebeck fork left onto the A5092 towards Greenodd. Climb over Kirkby Moor once decended and in the hamlet of Lowick Green turn sharp left onto unclassified road to join the A5084 back towards Torver and Coniston. On reaching Torver turn right at the T junction onto the A593 back towards Coniston.
