A brilliant ski tour with truly epic views across the fjords and mountains to the south of Lyngen, this is a fantastic ski tour. It is known as the "Sleeping Soldier" because the locals believe that is what it looks like when viewed from the south....

Although virtually all of the ski tours in Lyngen feel wild, Gorzelvtinden feels particularly remote. It's nestled at the end of a rarely visited valley and doesn't see a lot of traffic....

Fagerfjellet
This is an understandably popular peaks for Tromsø residents because it's close to town and safe when other peaks might be impassable due to avalanche risk. This is not to suggest that you should come here in any conditions and that it is always safe, just that it is safe most days of the winter, which certainly isn't the case with some of peaks in the region....

Lille Blåmannen
If avalanche conditions are scary, or if you just fancy a cruisy day and some nice views, this is a great place to come. The ascent is mellow and quite brief so it's quite a steady little half day trip....

Laukslettinden (977m) SW-NE Traverse
This is a shorter and easier alternative to the more demanding Arnøyhøgda - with equally good skiing. For a long way it follows the Arnøyhøgda SW route:

This is a classic ski tour into the heart of the Lyngen Alps. Easy access, moderate and varied terrain, glacier travel and great views characterise this tour.
The tour begins at the end of the road in Koppangen....

Uløya Traverse
Uløya is a popular skiing island in the area commonly referred to as Lyngen (although the peak is part of Skjervøy/Kåfjord).
It is a lengthy traverse that will reward you with great views to the Lyngen Alps....

This is an increasingly popular ski peak, especially for ski-by-boat groups, and for good reasons - good summit-to-sea skiing, several route options, and fantastic views across the ocean to the Lyngen Alps....

Sorbmegaisa is a my favourite ski mountain in Kåfjord. It has a moderate ascent, requiring some route-finding, and a great fall-line ski descent, plus the best views to the Lyngen Alps of all the ski peaks on the west side of the Lyngen Fjord....

Daltinden (1520m)
Daltinden is known as one of the best ski mountains in the Lyngen Alps. After a descent of just 5 kilometers into Lyngsdalen, you have get 1300 altitude meters of great skiing....

Storgalten (1219m)
Storgalten is one of the most visited peaks in the Lyngen Alps. With its location in the north of the Lyngen Peninsula, with an epic view to the peaks in the south, as well as many and varied downhill opportunities, the many visitors are well deserved....

Steinskardtinden (817m)
This is an easily accessible peak on "Kattfjordeidet", and with its more or less north-facing slope this is a good alternative for afternoon trips in the late spring. It's approximately an hour's march to the top, and easy, but varied skiing down again....

"Langdaltinden" is one of many fine ski mountains on Breivikeidet. "Langdaltinden" is approached without any approach march and offers several alternatives for the descent.
"Langdaltinden" lies west of the ferry dock at "Breivikeidet"....

"Buren" is a popular winter tour for skiers and boarders in Tromsø. From Tromsø it's only a short drive of 20 minutes to where you park your car. The mountain is a perfect "ski-after-work-mountain" and offers varied skiing....
