The first lift, built in 1941, was a cable car that went up to a hitherto largely unimportant peak called Serre Chevalier. And the rest, as they say, is history.

Soupline
On the way up the Combes chairlift you get a good look at this trail and it turns out to be exactly as it appears - smooth, fast and fun. It really is a great trip, with mile after mile of easy riding along a beautifully prepared trail....

Col de la Ricelle
This is about as good as it gets for those who want some fun biking and epic views. There's a tiny bit of uphill required but it's minimal for the rewards it provides....

L'Orée du Bois
In a strong field, this might just be the most enjoyable route in Serre Chevalier - it's smile-inducing, type-1 fun right out of the gate and just keeps on coming.
We've drawn this route starting from the Combes chairlift, but the "real" riding on it actually begins from the Casse du Boeuf chairlift....

A technically challenging descent which takes you all the way down the Serre Chevalier bikepark, this is a ride with countless mini-variations so you can keep riding it and find a new challenge each time....

Mélézine
This is a brilliant trip down the lower section of the Serre Chevalier bikepark and is a great way to end a day on the trails. The route we've shown here involves a section of "red" level trail and is graded accordingly - if you ride this line coming from the top part of the mountain, via the Orée du Bois line - the FATMAP grade drops from "Severe" to "Difficult"....

Enduro des Crêtes
This is a truly brilliant ride, on which you are highly unlikely to encounter anyone else. Start from the top of the Combes chairlift (as shown here) or from the Casse de Boeuf chairlift, and ride to a fence from where a singletrack heads south....
