A short, punchy, technical loop used as a competition trail.

In the heart of the Black Forest in Germany is Hausach, a small, beautiful, and unassuming town in the Kinzig Valley. On the outskirts of the town is a fabulous little loop, unknown to many. The town's ski club also doubles up as a mountain bike club and has built a series of short trails, which link together to form a short but very punchy and fun loop.

Don't be deceived by the shortness in distance: this loop will raise your heart rate from the get-go, and there are some challenging features along the way.

Most of the route is natural singletrack through a forested area, with the exception of the final downhill section where there is a series of manmade features. The natural trail makes ingenious use of natural forest obstacles as trail features. You'll find technical tree stumps to negotiate, fallen tree drop-offs, and fast banked berms weaving tightly between trees. The final section provides line choice options with differing difficulty levels: an awkward corner into a natural root section and root drop, a manmade rock garden with "baby head" boulders, and a steep chute to finish.
