A popular all-weather loop from Keswick with great views of the beautiful Borrowdale valley and fun technical descents.

Follow the often busy road from Keswick down the Borrowdale Valley, taking a steep lane which climbs up to the left after a few kilometers. You'll pass the pretty Ashness Bridge, and some great viewpoints of Derwentwater on the way up to Watendlath. From here there's a steep and rocky climb which is apparently rideable, but probably only for about 1% of riders! The reward is a fantastic steep and rocky descent down to Rosthwaite. Get back on the road which meanders to the end of the Valley, before the brutal road climb of Honister Pass. Turning back on yourself, technical singletrack takes you to a steep and rough slate descent and the little village of Grange. More road, followed by a short tough climb and then pleasant smooth undulating trails along the hillside of Catbells, with wonderful views out over Derwentwater.
