I would like to set a new world record by running 26 ultramarathons in 26 states on 6 different continents. All within the next year, 2017. My project aims to motivate people to follow their dreams and fulfil them, overcoming obstacles waiting along the way.
I will finish some of the ultramarathons as races. Some as long runs with my friends. And some all by myself. But every single ultramarathon will be tracked on my GPS watch.
I’ve been living and breathing ultrarunning for quite some time now and even managed to score a few results I’m quite proud of. Last year I finished 18th (11th in category) on the Ultra-Trail du Mount-Blanc – OCC, the most prestigious ultrarunning event in the world. I completed the strenuous 100km long race with 6,500m of ascent around the southern massive of Mount Blanc as the youngest Czech ever. This year I also set a new Czech record on the famous GR20 track in Corsica with the parameters of 180km and 13,000m of ascent. I’m a four-time winner of the ultra skymarathon Hostynska Osma. Apart from running, I work as a mountain expeditions tour guide for the Expedition Club in Brno, which allows me to travel around the world. I frequently write about that on my blog svirda.cz and 26ultra.com.
