So instead I explored the local surroundings and ended up in a beautiful scenery (maybe Top5 sceneries I’ve ever ridden my bike).
Lush rainforests followed by surreal lava fields.
In fact in 2018 Kīlauea  volcano erupted, buried 700 homes, thousands of earthquakes, covered 30 miles of road and added an astounding 875 acres of new land to the island.

This place is fascinating.
