Friday fitness part 2

Was time for another proj, and about time to check this one off. Solid day, felt amazing, made a few routefinding mistakes and sliced my leg but that’s life in the Boulders! With Tom Nelson for the first bit. 7:38ish TH to TH - maybe a new recorded FKT??

Also, I’m not typically one for lengthy Strava captions but learned a good lesson today that I feel is worth sharing:
Partner communication is so so critical in the mountains, especially on more remote or risky outings like today. Tom and I decided to split up about halfway for a couple reasons. As I continued along the crux of the route he watched from below, but lost sight of me as I made my way to the Kent summit. I then deviated a bit from the original route plan, which I shouldn’t have done (also b/c it ended up being like 20 min slower) and so we somehow missed each other on the descent and into the valley. With no cell service we couldn’t communicate, and I couldn’t see him, so he thought something had happened to me when he didn’t see me cross the trail - obviously freaky. Luckily was able to contact him eventually and all was good but just important to remember to really be clear with anyone you’re going out with about contingency plans, approaches to different possible scenarios, and what to do when/if you split up!
