Its looking good! 

I ran this is Hoka Speedgoat, 5mm lugs, and I got round - all be it easy running. 

Plenty of pictures attached - with GPS on map showing where they are.

Actual course is 8.5k / 5.3M and is the part of this run left visible. 

There are currently only a few really slippy bits. 

The start straight is OK. This is stony but has grass on parts of the middle. It opens up onto the grass after about 300m. 

Tufty grass for about 400m until the right turn when it turns to mud for another 200m.

Then the surface gets a bit stony for about 700m (this is repeated again later - twice - both times coming back down). During this section there is grass/mud on the side. This surface isn't too bad. 

Once at the top of the hill, there is a section of 500m that is hard trail - with limited grass verge. 

Little bit (10m) of road before turning right into the field. This is tufty grass for 400m.

After the gate at the end, it opens up into another field which is slippy clay mud. It is not thick mud, but it is slippy. This is about 500m.

The mud then turns to thick wet mud after you take the left and right, for about 400m it is very muddy and ends with a short down hill on reverse camber.

It then turns back into a hard surface trail for about 700m (this is repeated again once later) back to the top of the hill climbed previously. 

Down the hill, there is grass on the left.

Following it all the way back towards the start the surface is as described on the way out.

Turning to head back up a different hill, here is a bit (5m) of concreate at the corner and a little as you pass the barn. It then turns back into grass and then mud for about 300m.

It then turns a bit more stony, but there is also plenty of mud as you head up the hill again to join the course at the top as previously described.

The finish is on shorter grass for about 300m.

I would personally recommend wearing studs.

I will be running the race in Inov-8 xtalon 212 with 8mm lugs. 

You can get round in spikes, but there are several hard and stony sections - so be aware of those. I'd suggest 12mm or 9mm - but they will most likely end the race a size down. 

You could get round in trail shoes - but be aware that some parts might be very slippery.
